Jhenidah PBI recovers stolen truck from Cumilla

Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) in Jhenidah has recovered a stolen truck from Cumilla after five months. They conducted the drive in the guise of the Musallees (devotees). Police detained four persons in this connection. SP of Jhenidah PBI Abu Ashraf at a press conference at the PBI office at Chaklapara area in Jhenidah on Monday noon said that a gang of thieves stolen a truck of Mashiur Rahman worth taka about 25 lakh from Dakbangla Bazar in Jhenidah Sadar upazila on January 16 this year.

The owner filed a case with Jhenidah police against some unidentified thieves. In-charge of Dakbangla police out post Tauhidul Islam was given the charge for investigation. But the PBI took the responsibility to detect the clue and nab the thieves when SI Tauhidul could not perform better.

On information, a two-member PBI team led by sub inspector Sohel Munshi started staying in a mosque at Bakhannagar area of Muradnagar upzila in Cumilla in the guise of Musallee. On May 28, they swooped at GN engineering workshop and nabbed two members of gang. They arrested Gazi Abdul Hanna, son of Akamat Ali of Ghunaighar village, and Jiban Devnath, son of Kalipada Devnath of Khatash village of Bhangura in Pabna.

Earlier, the PBI men detained Juba League leader Jahangir and truck driver Sumon in this connection. They provided some important information about the hijacking of the truck primarily.
