Jhenaidah district council chairman Harun Or Rashid was accorded a grand reception by his locality people in the night of Friday. The locals of number 1 ward organized the reception at Pobahati City turning where ex panel mayor of Jhenaidah municipality Badar Uddin presided over. Harun Or Rashid attended there as the chief guest.
Number 1 ward councilor Tipu Sultan, ex councilor Jahidul Islam, Poura Juba League convener Jahid Hasan Dipul, A wami League Sadar upazila unit joint secretary Matiar Rahman, Awami League leader Badiuzzaman Bhandul, Raja Shah, veteran freedom fighter Tofazzel Hossain Shah, Taser Ali, Abdul Halim, Juba league leader Jahangir Alam among others present.
Newly elected district council chairman Harun Or Rashid in his speech as the chief guest with agitation said a vested quarter had defeated him time and again plotting conspiracy following a nasty politics. But he had overcome the situation when the people’s representatives in the district had expressed their opinion infavour of him through ballot. Now he is determined to take effective steps to make the district a livable district where the people will enjoy every facilities.
“I will obviously follow the guidelines of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
has taken steps to make the country a developed one as his father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rah
man had dreamed off”, Harun said.
