IUB holds seminar on ‘Environment Friendly Sustainable Design’

The School of Environment Science and Management organized a seminar on “Environment Friendly Sustainable Design” at Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) on Wednesday.

The programme was served to enrich the minds of the students to know about the philosophy of designing physical objects, the built environment and, services to comply with the principles of ecological sustainability. In this connection, a well reputed NGO named ‘PARAA’ presented their projects to the audiences. `PARRA’ is a design and architecture studio, focusing on enhancing spaces with the communities in Bangladesh through multi-disciplinary practice. From `PARAA’ Mahmuda Alam and Tarannum Ali Nibir shared their experiences and explored the potential of Design and Craft in Bangladesh. 

At the outset Dr Md Abdul Khaleque, dean, School of Environmental Science and Management, IUB delivered his welcome speech. 

Following the presentation, the floor was open for a question-answer session where both students and faculties participated enthusiastically. Members of the faculty and administration and a large number of students of IUB attended the ceremony.
