IU entry test ends

The three daylong admission test for the first year honour courses of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia under 2019-20 academic session was ended peacefully on Wednesday .

On the last day, the admission test of ‘D’ unit was held in four shifts from 9:30am to 5:00pm under faculty of Science, Biological Science and Engineering & Technology on the campus.

Prof Dr M Mostofa Kamal of coordinator confirmed that a total of 23, 152 aspirants logged application against 550 seats for ‘D’ unit while more than 90 percent aspirants took part in the tests.

The results of the test would be published soon at the university website www.iu.ac.bd, he added.

IU Vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari visited the exam centers with its pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha at the second shift of ‘D’ unit.

In the First day of the test of ‘A’ and ‘C’ unit was held under Theology and Islamic Studies and Business Admission faculties in three shifts on November 4.

As many as 1881 seekers attended the ‘A’ unit test against 240 seats while over 90 percents applicants took part the ‘C’ unit entry test on Monday

Besides, ‘B’ unit entry test under the faculty of Arts, Social Science and Law was held in four shifts on Tuesday while a total of 27, 637 students contested against 1065 seats for 14 departments.

Mentioned, a total of 61, 942 students applied in this year against 2305 seats under 8 faculty and 34 department while around 90 percent were present each unit.

IU VC Dr Rashid Askari congratulated all the stakeholders for their best cooperation to hold the test successfully through festive atmosphere.

The best meritorious and qualified students would get chance here in this year, he hoped.
