Speakers at a ceremony on Monday observed that Islamic banking system can boost up the country's economy. The observation was made in the opening ceremony of 177th branch of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited (AIBL) at Newmarket in the capital. AIBL Director Alhajj Md. Anowar Hossain formally inaugurated the branch with Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Farman R Chowdhury in the chair.
While addressing, AIBL Director Alhajj Md. Anowar Hossain said Al-Arafah Islami Bank was established not for making profit by doing business but for the doing welfare of society. He invited all to have the blessings of Islamic banking services in the new branch of the bank at newmarket.
"The Islamic banking system can boost-up the economy of the country", he added. Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Farman R Chowdhury highlighted prospects of islamic banking in Bangladesh as well as in the world . He said that the Bank is doing its best to ensure better services to the clients.
AIBL Directors Alhajj Abdul Malek Mollah, Alhajj Engr. Kh. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Mohammad Yunus Chairman of Risk Management Committee of Shahjalal Islami Bank, Deputy Manging Director Md. Fazlul Karim, Subrata Saha, General Secretary of Multiplan Shopping Center, Md. Tofazzal Hossain General Secretary of Chishtia Supermarket, Md. Iqbal Hossain Former General Secretary of New Chishtia Supermarket. Deputy Managing Director, Shabbir Ahmed was present on the occasion.
Executive Vice President and Head of AIBL Dhaka Central Zone Monir Ahmed delivered the welcome speech. The ceremony was conducted by Executive Vice President Engr. Md.
