IS claims responsibility for Pallabi Police Station blast

Middle-East-based militant organisation Islamic State (IS) has claimed the responsibility for Wednesday's bomb explosion in the capital's Pallabi police station, said terrorism watchdog SITE Intelligence Group.

Saiful Islam, deputy commissioner of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said the claim was baseless.

"We have so far found criminal intentions behind the incidents and we are analysing the motive. We are investigating the incident to check further. ISIS has made this type of fake claims before. This one is nothing but part of that process," he told to the media.

(CTTC) Unit DC Abdul Mannan, wishing anonymity, said the ISIS is just trying to grab the opportunity as media gave huge coverage to the incident.

Earlier, a bomb exploded inside the Pallabi police station compound in the capital at midnight on Tuesday, leaving, four cops and a boy injured.
