Marking the founding centenary of Dhaka University (DU), the inaugural ceremony of an international conference titled ‘Celebrating 100 years of the University of Dhaka: Reflections from the Alumni—International and National’ was held at Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building on Thursday evening.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a former student of Dhaka University inaugurated the conference virtually from Ganabhaban as the chief guest. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman presided over the conference.
Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni addressed the opening ceremony as the special guest while prominent economist Rehman Sobhan presented the keynote speech.
Senior officials of the Univesity along with former and current teachers and students of the University participated in the conference.
