Imams and muazzin of 1649 mosques in the areas under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will be receiving special honors from DSCC on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The DSCC has allocated a total of Tk 74.20 lakh for the distribution of honorarium to the imams of the mosques at the rate of Tk 3,000 per person and to the muazzins at the rate of Tk 1,500 per person.
Money has been allocated to honour the Imams, muazzins from the mayor's optional fund sector allocated in the budget of DSCC for the year 2020-21, in favor of 10 Regional Executive Officers of Dhaka South City Corporation.
DSCC secretary Akramuzzaman informed about the matter through an office order issued in this regard on May 5. In all, a total of Tk 74 lakh 20 thousand 500 has been allocated for 1649 mosques under DSCC.
Akramuzzaman, secretary of the Dhaka South City Corporation, said in an office order that the money would be distributed among the imams and muezzins by the regional executive officers in coordination with the concerned ward councilors.
The Chief Accounting Officer will arrange for the payment of this money.
The order has been issued with the approval of the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation.
