"Take all possible safety measures aimed at observing the National Mourning Day on August 15 across the country," he gave the order while presiding over a virtual meeting held at the Police Headquarters.

All commissioners of all metropolitan police, range and district superintendents of police joined the meeting.

The IGP asked to ensure maximum security to the President, the Prime Minister, other important persons and diplomats during the National Mourning Day events and their movements.

He also directed police officials to keep vigilance on the National Mourning Day events so that none can create any kind of chaos and no rumor can be spread through social media.

"We have to take adequate precautions and security measures on the basis of intelligence reports about militants and banned militant outfits as well as other terrorists," Dr Benazir said.

He directed to strengthen and intensify police patrols and beat police officers to ensure their presence physically and vigilance in their respective jurisdictions during the National Morning Day events.

To this end, the police chief also gave instructions for necessary coordination with local administration, public representatives and organizers to ensure smooth observation of the national Morning Day.

Dr Benazir, however, directed beat police officials to ensure their physical presence during food distribution on the National Mourning Day.

Additional IGPs Md Mainur Rahman Chowdhury, M Khurshid Hossain and concerned police officers were present during the meeting.
