Shibganj thana police arrested the husband for killing his wife through stabbing with a sharp knife at his room a Monakosha Chowdhurypara of Shibganj upazila under Chapainawabganj district on Wednesday ( Jan-6) night.
The killer husband has been identified as Modhu, a farmer by profession of the same village. They have two sons.
Police and local sources informed, on Wednesday night Modhu returned to the house from the market and locked into an altercation with his wife Tanzila over family affairs. At a stage of altercation, Modhu stabbed his wife and killed her.
Officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station Farid Hossain confirmed the incident of killing and said, being informed, police went to the spot and sent the dead body to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Killer husband has been arrested from the village and legal action was underway in this connection, he added.
