Hungary to provide 130 scholarships to Bangladesh students annually

The Hungarian government has expanded its scholarship scheme for Bangladeshi students and decided to provide full scholarship to 130 students per year at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels.

A MoU was signed between the countries in this regard in Budapest, the foreign ministry said.

The Hungarian government will provide those scholarships for three years under the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Hungary Muhammad Abdul Muhith and Hungarian State Secretary Dr. Orsolya Pacsay-Tomassich inked the MoU at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.

For the last three years, Hungary used to provide 100-scholarship annually.

With the expansion, 30 scholarships will remain dedicated for the students and professionals of nuclear energy.

Before the signing ceremony, the foreign ministry said the two sides discussed future roadmap for the growing bilateral relations between the countries including economy, health, water management and agriculture, joint-celebration of the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Budapest this year.
