Humayun for utilizing opportunities of 4th industrial revolution

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Wednesday called upon all to utilize the opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution for sustaining the country’s industrialisation, reports BSS.

“For this, Industries Ministry has taken initiatives to increase sector-wise skill and productivity. The government has formulated the ‘National Productivity Master Plan’ for 10 years to increase capacity of local industry by increasing productivity,” he said. The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on “Productivity for Global Competitiveness”, marking the ‘National Productivity Day 2019’ at Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) auditorium in the city, said a press release.

Industries Secretary M Abdul Halim presided over the function while National Productivity Organisation (NPO) acting Director Mohammad Salauddin delivered the welcome speech. Humayun said Bangladesh has reached a new height through the sustainable socio-economic development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and NPO is playing a vital role behind the achievement.

He emphasised on creating capable trainers for increasing productivity to sustain in the competitive global market. Abdul Halim said Bangladesh will have to achieve the capability of proper utilisation of limited resources for achieving the industry related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “Increasing productivity is a vital issue in this regard. Through increasing the productivity, there is an opportunity to make profit with a low cost and in limited time,” he added.
