Hijacker killed in gunfight with police

A hijacker named Nurnabi was killed in a gunfight with police in the Kata Hills area of Cox's Bazar. The Gunfight took place on Sunday. Police recovered pistols and bullets from the scene. Four members of police were also injured in the incident. The deceased was identified as the son of late Abdul Karim of Teknaf Para area. Nurunnabi is a top hijacker listed by the police and accused in many cases.

Officer-in-Charge of Cox’s Bazar Police Station Shahjahan Kabir said that Nurunnabi was detained along with firearms from ‘Kalur Dokan” area in the town. Police went on an operation in the Kata Pahar area based on information given by Nurunnabi, where his associates opened fire on the police. Nurunnabi was declared dead after being taken to the hospital as injured. Legal actions are being taken on this regard.
