Headmaster blamed for enrollment of students against bribe

Hundreds of people including guardians formed a huge human chain in front of Jhenidah Press Club on Thursday morning demanding punishment of headmaster of Jhenidah government high school Mohammad Mijanuzzaman and other associates for their alleged involvement in enrollment of a number of students against huge bribe.

The speakers said the headmaster in collaboration with the assistant headmaster of the school Sarwar Hossain and some others have enrolled a number of students in different classes in the current session. The head master had mentioned the recommendation of the deputy commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath at places.

They said the headmaster had received Taka two lakh to two and a half lakh from the students belongs to well to do families. As a result the meritorious students from the ordinary families were deprived of admission in the government school in the session. It was simply violation of admission rules of the government for students’ enrollment.

They demanded i0mmediate removal of the headmaster and his said associates to ensure academic environment in the government run educational institution.

Anwar Hossain, Bashir Usddin and Aslam Hossain among the guardians and Imran Hossain, Ashraful Islam and Shahin Rahman among the students spoke during the human chain.
