HC summons chief health officers of DNCC, DSCC

The High Court (HC) on Monday summoned Chief Health Officers of Dhaka North and South City Corporations over outbreak of Dengue and Chikungunya in the city. A High Court division bench comprising Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Shohrowardi passed the order, asking the two city corporations officials to appear before the court at 11am on July 25, reports BSS.

The court came up with the order as it expressed disappointment over the steps taken by two city corporations to eradicate Aedes mosquitoes. Earlier on July 14, the High Court had asked the two city corporations to take steps within 24-hour to eradicate Aedes mosquitoes in the capital. The court had also ordered them to take preventive measures to stop the spread of dengue and chikungunya in the city. The court in its suo moto order at that time had asked to submit a report in this regard by July 22.
