The High Court (HC) on Tuesday issued a rule asking authorities concerned to explain in four weeks as to why it shall not declare illegal the appointment of Professor Fouzia Rezwana as the principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC), reports BSS.
The court however, removed legal bar for Prof Fouzia to join his new office as it did not impose any stay on the gazette, appointing her as the new principal of VNSC. A High Court division bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Khairul Alam passed the order after holding hearing on a writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Eunus Ali Akond challenging the legality of the appointment of Fouzia.
Advocate Akond on Monday filed the writ and the High Court on the same day had asked Prof Fouzia not to join her new office till hearing on the writ. The petitioner took part in the hearing for his plea himself, while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam stood for the state.
