Gynecologist Nurjahan Bhuiyan passes away

Professor Dr Nurjahan Bhuiyan, a reputed Gynecologist, died of old-age complications at Chattogram Medical College Hospital in the early hours of Thursday. She was 80, said a press release.

Professor Nurjahan left behind her husband, only son and a host of relatives and admires to mourn her death, reports BSS.

For the last one year she was sick and got her treatment in Singapore and Chittagong. Professor Nurjahan Bhuiyan got her MBBS from Dhaka Medical College in 1962 and MRCOG from Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, London in 1967.

She is the author of some commendable books on Obstetrics and published several research articles in recognised journal at home and abroad. During her illustrious career, she served at Chittagong Medical College, Dhaka Medical College, Sir Salimullah Medical College and at P.G. Hospital (now BSMMU) in different capacities as Professor and Head of the Department respectively.
