Housing and Public Works Minister S M Rezaul Karim on Wednesday said the government won’t spare anyone involved in corrupt practices as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has adopted a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against corruption, reports BSS.

The minister said this while addressing a seminar as the chief guest at the conference room of the Public Works Department in city’s Shegunbagicha area. The Ministry of Housing and Public Works organized the seminar on the occasion of the World Habitat Day.

“Wherever corruption is taking place, we are taking action. I will not stand by anyone who is involved in corruption,” he said. He stressed the need for sustainable development in the country and said a master plan is being made in this regard. He also said anything unplanned would not be allowed even in private lands to ensure maximum utilization of land in a planned way.

With Urban Development Directorate Director Dr Khurshid Zabin Hossain Taufique in the chair, the seminar was addressed, among others, by Housing and Public Works Secretary Md Shahid Ullah Khandaker and Public Works Department Chief Engineer Md Shahadat Hossain as the special guests. Additional Secretary of Housing and Public Works Md Yakub Ali Patwari gave the welcome speech.
