The government is going to formulate a business-friendly and modern industrial policy by holding discussions with the stakeholders.

The existing industrial policy was adopted in 1972. The new industrial policy will be formed by holding discussions with all stakeholders.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said this while speaking as the chief guest at an iftar mahfil and seminar on “Industrialization in Bangladesh: The Next Level” at The Westin Dhaka Tuesday evening, said a press release.

Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) organised the seminar.

Among others, National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Kazi M Aminul Islam spoke on the occasion.

BGCCI President Barrister Omar Sadat presided over the seminar.

Humayun said the bilateral trade relations between Bangladesh and Germany are increasing. “The German entrepreneurs are investing in the country’s different sectors, including textile, energy, logistic and construction,” he added.
