This time the government fixed the market price to prevent manipulation of rice prices. From now on, medium and fine rice will be sold at wholesale prices at the rates fixed by the government.

The price was fixed at a meeting of rice mill owners with the food ministry on Tuesday. According to the new price, per kg miniket rice will have to be sold at Tk 51.50 and per 50 kg bag at Tk 2,575. Medium quality rice should be sold at Tk 45 per kg and sack at Tk 2,250.

All rice mill owners in the country have been asked to sell rice at this new price from Wednesday. If anyone does not do so, legal action will be taken against him. From Wednesday, magistrates and food department officials will launch a campaign to ensure that rice mills in different parts of the country sell at new prices.

"We have fixed the price in consultation with the rice mill owners," said Sarwar Mahmood, director general of the food department. If anyone does not agree, we will take legal action against him. "

The retail price of rice was not fixed in the talks of the rice mill owners with the Ministry of Food.

Rice mill owners say they are willing to sell rice at this price. But for that we have to reduce the price of paddy and increase the supply. There are huge stocks of paddy in different fords and traders. These stocks have to be brought to the market. That will reduce the price of paddy. This will enable the rice mill owners to sell rice at the price fixed by the government.
