Newly joined Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gopalganj Shahida Sultana has paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The DC paid the homage through placing wreath at the mazar of Bangabandhu at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Sunday. Later, she offered fateha and took part in prayers there.
She also prayed for salvation of the departed souls of the members who were martyred on August 15 in 1975. She further prayed for good health and longevity of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
At that time, outgoing DC Mohammad Mukhlesur Rahman Sarker, who was promoted as Joint Secretary, Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs), Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Tungipara and others were present.
