Four teens held on allegation of raping two girls

Police have detained four adolescents for their alleged involvement in a gang-rape incident after a rape-related video went viral on social site a month later of the incident, by conducting drives at several places in Savar including Khulna district, on Tuesday midnight and Wednesday.

The detainees were identified as Prince Sharukh, 15, Alamin, 14, Jakir, 13, Rakib, 16. 

They all are members of a teenage gang of the area named ‘Prince Group’, and among them, Prince Sharukh is the leader of the gang.  

Aswadur Rahman, SI, Ashulia police station confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Post. 

“So far we got to know that a total of 8 to 10 adolescent boys of a teenage-gang, were involved in the incident, among them we detained four in separate drives, and our drive still continues to detain others”, he said.

It was learned that the incident happened around a month earlier, while the victims were goers to hang around with their two male friends at Vadail area in Ashulia. 

According to the source, the accused were forcibly took the victims at a solitary place, and raped them in turn by holding their male-friends asides. The accused also recorded the whole gang-rape incident through their mobile as well. Later, somehow someone of the teenage-gang published the video on social site centering their internal gang feud, and it went viral on spur of the moment. Moreover, the victims went to their village recently after the video went viral, in fear of self-esteem.

Ziaul Haque, Inspector (Intelligence) of Ashulia police station told The Bangladesh Post, “Though we arrested some accused, nobody yet to file any complaint, even we yet to found the victims. However, we are trying to contact the victims and must be a case that will be filed.”
