The District Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in a drive arrested four alleged drug traders with 10,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from a loaded truck in Rangpur on Thursday.
"Acting on a tip off, we searched the truck at Fatehpur Bhurarhat area in Sadar upazila and arrested a men with the huge Yaba tablets and seized Taka 42,000 and the truck from the spot," Deputy Director of the District DNC Dilara Rahman said on Friday.
The detainees were identified as Aminul Islam, 30, of Fatehpur Bhurarhat area in Rangpur Sadar upazila, Idris Ahmed, 30, and Mamun Mian, 20, of Chakaria upazila in Cox's Bazar and Saikat Mian, 24, of Modern Mour area in Rangpur city.
"After filing a case in this connection against the arrested persons, we handed them over to the Rangpur Sadar Kotwali police station," Dilara Rahman added.
