The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has remembered the life and work of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and their eldest son Sheikh Kamal through a discussion marking their birthdays.
August 8 is the birthday of Bangamata while August 5 is the birthday of Sheikh Kamal.
Both of them were assassinated along with Bangabandhu on the fateful night of August 15 in 1975.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen was the chief guest while state minister for foreign affairs Md Shahriar Alam was the special guest at the discussion. Ambassador Shahed Reza was the key speaker. Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen also spoke at the discussion.
The foreign minister asked all to follow the ideals of Bangabandhu and his family members while indulging in nation building activities.
A documentary on Bangamata and Sheikh Kalam was also screened during the programme attended by the officials of the ministry.
