Police have arrested five fake journalists including a woman for allegedly cheating and selling drugs at various places in front of Jessore Zila school on Wednesday evening.
Police also recovered several types of photographs and two Wakitaki sets.
The arrestees were identified as Rehena Akhter alias Lipi 28, daughter of Mithu Mia hailed from Chougacha upazila and Priya Khan, 25, son of Babul Khan, Sohel Hossain 27 son of Liton Hossain , Babu Mia, 30 son of Tuku Mia and Ohidul 32 son of Ohidul Islam of the Jessore town.
Inspector (Investigation) of the Jessore Kotwali Model Police Station, Sameer Kumar Sarkar, said that the police found a fake woman journalist riding a motorcycle in the town. She introduces herself as a journalist. Using identity card, she and her associates sell yaba in different areas of the town.
They took the yaba shipment from Cox's Bazaar and sold it to Jessore town by motorcycle. On Wednesday afternoon, police raided the Jessore Zilla School area on the basis of information that his colleagues were standing up for selling drug.
Sohel Hossain said to police that Rehana Apa was a member of the Jessore Press Club. However, police found out that she was not a member of Jessore Press Club.
Police received Sohel's information and brought him to the Jessore police station and interrogated.
OC Sameer Kumar Sarkar also said that Rehana was questioned. A fake identity card was obtained from Jessore base called 'Weekly Smriti'.
He initially said to police that she had bought the Wakitaki set online. In addition, Rehana alias Lipi came to Jessore to order phensedyle from Cox's Bazar to Chougacha border.
Lipi was arrested a few months ago by the police in Jessore town in the same case. Lipi and her associates cheat to the people by displaying walkie-talkie. Lipi and her associates cheating with the people as a journalist long times.A case was filed in this connection.
