Fish worth Tk 6 lakh poisoned in Chinamachi village

Miscreants poisoned fish to death, worth around Tk 6 lakh, in a pond at Chinamachi village under Bitghar union in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Thursday.

It was not identified, who caused this incident by poisoning the pond at night.

However, fish project owner Haji Hanif Sarder and former member Mizan claimed the loss was around Tk 5-6 lakhs.

Haji Hanif Sarder and Mizan member said they are doing this fishing business in various ponds of different types of fishes for the last 6-7 years.

Their families run through the income of this fish cultivation.

Few days ago, there was an incident of poisoning in a pond north of Chinamachi village, which caused killing of million fishes.

Meanwhile, Union Parishad Chairman of Bitghar union, Haji Abul Hossain confirmed the matter and said that police from Shibpur Police Camp has already visited the spot.
