First ever paperless meeting held

First ever paperless meeting using a module of e-government GRP software was held at information and communication technology (ICT) department on Monday.

The meeting reviewed progress of the decision taken in another meeting of the department chaired by the Prime Minister ICT adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy recently. The meeting also discussed progress of various projects taken by the department.

The meeting presided over by ICT state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak finalised a number of important issues including celebration of Mujib Barsho 2020 and quick construction of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centres at different districts.

At the meeting, the state minister directed to organise all the future meetings of the department without use of paper.

He hoped that within 2021, the department would be able to desert use of papers in all its activities.

The first paperless meeting was attended by the heads of all companies and various project managers under the ICT department.

The Bangladesh e-Government ERP Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under ICT Division involving the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of BUET and a consortium of local software companies have designed and developed 4 out of 9 modules of this GRP.

The four modules include — meeting management, Inventory, Asset Management, and Procurement.  Project director Ashoke Kumar Roy said, “Using this module, it will make the organization more efficient than ever before, reducing the risk of human error by automating all tasks, it will increase productivity, increasing procedural transparency, and provide an easy view of everything through a dashboard”.
