Field days on Tosa-8 variety jute seed held in Jhenidah

A field days on demonstration on Tosa -8 early variety of jute seeds was held at Soyail village of Jhenidah Sadar upazila on Thursday. The programme was arranged by the department of agriculture extension (DAE) in Jhenidah Sadar upazia aiming at promoting the farming of quality paddy, wheat and early jute title Tosa invented by Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI).

Additional director of the DAE Jashore region Mohammad Ali attended the programme as chief guest. DAE deputy director Kripanshu Sekhar Biswas, additional, deputy director Bijoy Krishna Halder, project monitoring officer Samiur Rahman, agriculture extension officer Rokanuzzaman and sub assistant plant protection officer Khairul Islam among others present.

A number of farmers participated in the field days, when contacted said they are hopeful to cultivate the Tosa-8 to make the farming profitable once again.
