Braving the burning sun country’s female workers are breaking bricks to improve their livelihood and bring a smile on the faces of their family members.
Breaking bricks, they are also contributing to the country’s ongoing development works and construction sector as well.
Earlier these poor women did not have sufficient money to buy food, medicine and clothes. But now engaging themselves in various works, many women have now become self-reliant.
Women of different age are spontaneously working with smiley face, as they get a reasonable wage daily. Besides their family, they are contributing to different construction works.
Visiting the capital’s Demra area in the capital, this correspondent found many women crashing bricks, as part of the government’s road development work.
Ambia Khatun engaged in brick-breaking said, she is happy as she is able to earn sufficient amount of money to run her family.
Another woman said they are able to get different type of works continuously as the government is now implementing various development programmes. Based on the situation, they not only break bricks, but also pull cement bag and sand bag and dig earth.
Talking to the locals, it was learned that these low income women are working alongside the male workers on the roads and other construction sites.
