FBCCI president mourns death of Allama Shafi

FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim has expressed deep grief over the death of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, the retired Director General (Muhtamim) of Al-Haiatul Ulya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh, Befaqul Madaris, Bangladesh, Darul Uloom Moinul Islam-Hathazari Madrasa in Chittagong, and the President of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh. At the same time, he expressed deep sympathy towards the bereaved family and wished peace upon the departed soul.

In his condolence message, FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim stated, “He was hailed as one of the leading religious scholars in Bangladesh. Besides, he had also played a role in modernizing the Qawmi madrasa education system. 

We are saddened by the death of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi. Our condolences to all members of his family”

The Islamic scholar died at a hospital in the capital on Friday (September 18) evening. 

He was 104 years old at the time of his death. 

He had long suffered from geriatric weakness as well as diabetes, high blood pressure, and respiratory issues. 

Ahmed Shafi was born at Pakhiartila village in Rangunia of Chattogram.
