Fakhrul reappointed TSS MD

Engineer Fakhrul Haider Chowdhury has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) of Telephone Shilpa Sangstha Limited (TSS) once again by the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology. He will serve for two years according to an office order signed by Bidyut Chandra Aich, Deputy Secretary of that division on April 8.

Earlier, he took the charge of MD of TSS on June 30, 2019 for the first time. After serving for 1 year and 8 months, he went on to Post Retirement Leave (PRL) on March 1 this year.

In a response, Fakhrul said, "During my tenure as the managing director for a short period of time, I was able to solve many of TSS's long-standing accumulated problems and make the company fit to contribute to the 'Digital Bangladesh Binirman' program."

“I hope that in the second term, with the cooperation of all, I will be able to take this organization far and wide,” he added.

Fakhrul was born in 1962 in Laxmipur district. After graduating from BIT, Dhaka (now Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology) with a B.Sc. in Engineering, Fakhrul joined the former T&T on January 26, 1991 as a 9th BCS (Telecom) Cadre Officer as an Assistant Divisional Engineer.

Fakrul has been involved in organizational and social activities since his student days. He is one of the founders of the DUET branch of Bangladesh Chatra League and an executive member of the founding committee of 'Bangabandhu Engineers Council' (EC 1996-1997). He is also the President of the First Executive Council of the DUET Chatra League Alumni Association (DUECA) and the current President of the Duet Alumni Association (DUETA).

Fakrul successfully served as the General Secretary of Laxmipur District Association, Dhaka for two terms (2011 to 2013 and 2014-2017).

His father, late Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, as an Ansar commander, trained the youngsters-students of the village in the local school field at the beginning of the war of liberation. His mother, late Razia Ara Chowdhurani was involved in various social activities in the Union Parishad Body.

Engineer Fakhrul's better half Mrs. Wahida Yeasmin Flora is a housewife. His only son Engr Washikul Haider Chowdhury, daughter-in-law Engr Zubeda Akhter Sara have recently graduated from United International University (UIU) and his only daughter Faria Haider Chowdhury is a final year Electric and Electronic Engineering (EEE) student of UIU.
