State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Wednesday laid stress on quick implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), a software for taking quick decision, to ensure congenial working atmosphere for the next generation, reports BSS.

“There is no alternative to introducing ERP for transforming ‘Digital Bangladesh”, he told this as the chief guest at a meeting on ERP implementation at Byduit Bhaban.

Power secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus chaired the function, while Chairman of Bangladesh Development Board (BPDB) Engineer Khaled Mahmood, Chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) Major General (retd) Moen Uddin and Director General of Power Cell Engineer Mohammad Hossain were also present.

Nasrul said the ERP software would play a significant role in taking quick decision in any organisation or firm, adding, “We have to remove reluctance for using technology. Concerned organisation chief or secretary or minister would be able to know overall situation of their respective offices through dashboard.”

He said the power division has been implementing the ERP through Techvision, Microsoft, Computer Service and Techno Heaven and collected data on human resources.

“We hope that the ERP will be made effective in power division from October this year,” the state minister said.
