Enhancing professional skills of women police members stressed

High-ranking police officials at an orientation meeting cum workshop have stressed on enhancing professional skills of women police to meet field level challenges, reports BSS.

They put special importance on imparting training on information and communication technology (ICT) to women police members, increasing awareness in using social media and maintaining order for professional excellence at home and UN missions abroad.

They viewed this at Rangpur regional orientation meeting cum workshop of Bangladesh Police Women’s Network (BPWN) at Police Lines School and College auditorium in the city on Tuesday, a press release said here this afternoon.

Women police members of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP), Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari and Dinajpur District Police and range Reserve Force (RRF) of Rangpur participated in the day-long event.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range Police Devdas Bhattacharyya attended the event as the chief guest.

Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud and Superintendent of Police (SP), Rangpur Biplob Kumar Sarkar addressed as special guests.

Additional Police Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police and President of BPWN Amena Begum presided over the event.

Additional Inspector General (AIG), Police Headquarters and Joint General Secretary of BPWN Shehela Parvin, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of RpMP Shamima Pervin, among others senior women police officials, addressed the workshop.
