The last few months have been all about comebacks for Peter Siddle. He first got the opportunity to feature in the Test XI against Pakistan in October 2018, playing Test cricket again after a gap of nearly two years. Then came his ODI comeback as he played three matches against India in January 2019, getting back into Australia's 50-overs scheme of things after close to nine years.

Speaking about his selection, Siddle recalled a message from Coach Justin Langer in 2018 that reinforced the belief in him that he could feature in the Australia team. "It was last year, I was going well playing for Essex and just had a couple of messages and a couple of phone calls with him.
