The Elite Iron & Steel Industries Limited (EISIL) has opened a new factory in Ghorashal, Narsingdi to meet the growing market demand.
“Our brand loyal customers have been asking for this for an increase in capacity for a while,” said Shayaan Seraj, Director of the company, as the factory was inaugurated on Thursday.
“We hope that we can now start servicing their requirements and play an even stronger role as a development partner for infrastructure development in Bangladesh,” he said. The EISIL is a concern of the Elite Group which started its journey in 1983 as the first integrated steel company in Bangladesh. The first factory, which has the production capacity of 100 tons per day, is located at Joydebpur, Gazipur area.
With its second unit added, the brand will be able to produce 10,000 tons of billets and 5000 tons of rods per month.
“It marks a milestone in the company’s journey,” the company said in a statement. The event was celebrated with a specially prepared ‘Mejban’ meal for clients and colleagues in the organisation.
The expansion has come at a time when Bangladesh’s infrastructure development is growing fast with an appetite for high quality steel products.
“The factory has installed two state of the art furnaces with 25 MT capacity each and modern CCM with scope to add more volume as and when required.
“It has a dog house air pollution control system ensuring capture of fumes and smoke released from the scrap melting process. In addition, all wastewater is treated, recycled and used internally to ensure efficient water consumption,” according to the company.
