Eastern University has achieved a permanent management certificate by the government. A letter signed by Farhad Ahmed, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Education confirmed the granting of this certificate On March 22. The Ministry of Education has awarded this certificate to Eastern University in recognition of conducting higher education programs while maintaining the quality of education, read a press release.
Since its establishment in 2003, Eastern University has been conducting its academic activities in accordance with all the rules and guidelines of the Ministry of Education as well as the University Grants Commission, the PR added.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Eastern University Mohammad Ali Azzam said, "This is a very big event. We have achieved another step forward in the challenge of providing quality higher education'.
Professor Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hussain, Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University said in an immediate response, ‘This is a desirable certificate for all private universities. Out of 110 private universities in Bangladesh, only 9/10 universities have got this certificate. Eastern University is one of them. It is undoubtedly a matter of great pride for us.’
According to the Private Universities Act 2010, the university has an obligation to transfer all activities to its own permanent campus within 12 years of its establishment.
