DUET, Walton ink MoU

Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) and Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC will work jointly in research and innovation of electronics and technology products with the aim of industry-academia collaboration. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the two institutions for mutual knowledge exchange in this work. Duet students will have research and work opportunities at the Walton factory because of this agreement.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed between the two parties on Tuesday (September 20, 2022) at Duet Campus in Gazipur. Registrar of Duet (Additional Duty) Professor Dr Himanshu Bhowmik and Walton Hi-Tech Deputy Managing Director Alamgir Alam Sarkar signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Professor Dr. Kamruzzaman, head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Professor Dr Ruma, head of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department and Professor Dr. Hasan Mustafa Afroz, head of Chemical and Food Engineering department of DUET were also attend at the event.

Among others Chief Research and Innovation (R&I) Officer Tapas Kumar Majumdar, Chief Quality Management Officer Tahsinul Haque, Senior Executive Director Md Easir Al-Imran, Head of Compressor R&I Mir Mujahedeen Islam, Head of Refrigerator R&I Tofail Ahmed, Executive Director Abdul Malek Sikder, Deputy Executive Director. Nazmul Islam were also present on behalf of Walton . Duet Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Habibur Rahman earlier spoke with  Walton senior officials during a discussion.
