A special dua mahfil and munajat has been organized in all the branches of the National Bank on Thursday to mark the birth anniversary of Zainul Haque Sikder, one of the organizers of the Great Liberation War and late chairman of National Bank and Sikder Group.
The prayer was organized in all the 213 branches of the bank including the head office. Before the prayer the bank’s entrepreneurial director, family members, politicians, workers and employees of Sikder Group paid homage to the heroic freedom fighter Zainul Haque Sikder.
Qurankhwani, special prayers and munajat were organised seeking blessings for the soul of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation.
Mass feeding was organised at Zainul Haque Sikder Women’s Medical College located in Rayerbazar and ZH Sikdar University of Science and Technology situated at Vedarganj where thousands of people participated. Later, the Sikdar family distributed relief goods among the poor people of Shariatpur district.
Zainul Haque Sikder, one of the organisers of the liberation war, died on February 10 in a Dubai hospital and he was buried on the premises of Sikder Women’s Medical College and Hospital.
Although a historical chapter came to an end with the death of this genius personality, various institutions established during his lifetime have continued to work for the welfare of the society and the country in the path shown by him.
