Drug dealer died from yaba packets burst inside stomach 31 more packets recovered

In Rajshahi, 31 packets of yaba were recovered from the stomach of a dead yaba dealer. The autopsy found these packets in his stomach. Each packet contained 50 yaba.
 Abdus Shukur (38) was caught in Pabna while carrying yaba in his stomach from Cox’s Bazar. He was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital last Sunday night to get yaba out of his stomach. He died there at night
 Yaba packets were later recovered from his stomach during an autopsy in the presence of a magistrate on Monday (September 28) at noon.
 Abdus Shukur is the son of Moktar Ahmed of Bazarpara area in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
 It is learned that the Detective Branch (DB) police arrested Shukur along with three others from Pabna Hospital Road area on September 23. He was first admitted to Pabna Sadar Hospital to get yaba out of his stomach. Doctors at Pabna Sadar Hospital confirmed abdominal ultrasonogram and X-ray to show that Shukur had yaba in his stomach. But they have no way to get them out. He was later shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Sunday night. Shukur died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital around 11pm.
 Of the 31 packets of yaba recovered, 16 were intact. The remaining 15 exploded. He died after the packet burst and the pills came out and melted.
 Rajpara Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahadat Hossain Khan told media that a doctor conducted his autopsy in the presence of Rajshahi Executive Magistrate Abdul Malek. At that time, 31 packets of yaba were recovered from his stomach.
 He said the yaba would be sent to Pabna police station as evidence. The body has been handed over to Sub-Inspector Subrata of Pabna Police Station.
 When asked, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station Nasim Ahmed said, “We have talked to Shukur’s family. They are coming to take the body. The body will be handed over as soon as they arrive.”
