A drug addict son killed his unfortunate mother of a village of Godagari by beating her on her head on Monday night. The victim was identified as Sunoti Rani(50), wife of Asha Ghose of Sreemantpur village under Godagari Municipality. Police said, Sunoti Rani died by being struck on her head with a stick by her son. The killer son Sumon Ali(28) escaped home following the death of his mother.
Ratan, cousin of Sumon informed, Sumon was drug addict for a long time. On Monday morning, he demanded money from his mother Sunoti Rani but his mother refused to pay him any money. As a result, Sumon locked into an altercation with his mother and at a stage of altercation he hit her on the head with a stick injuring her fatally. She turned unconscious as a impact of the hit. Relatives of Sunoti rushed her to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to injury.
Khairul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Godagari Police station informed, police visited the spot and the dead body of the victim was sent to the morgue of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Police also started operation to arrest Sumon.
