Dr Nigar buried in Jhenidah

Dr Nigar Nahid, who had been serving as a junior consultant of Radiology Imaging department at Bangladesh-Kuwait Friendship Government Hospital in Dhaka, was buried at her family grave yard at Arappur in Jhenidah town on Thursday evening.

Jhenidah district unit of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) has expressed their deep shock at the death of Dr. Nigar Nahid. In a statement on Thursday, BMA’s Jhenidah unit general secretary Dr. Dulal Kumar Chakravarty prayed for salvation of departed soul of Dr Nigar. Dr Nigar was admitted to Popular Hospital with high fever at 1:30am on Monday. She was diagnosed with dengue shock syndrome. She was shifted to Square Hospitals on Tuesday. She died there on Wednesday with dengue fever.

She is the third patient to have died of the disease in the country since January. Dr Nigar was a student of 32nd batch of Mymensingh Medical College. She had been serving as a physician after completion of the 25th BCS. She left behind her husband Dr. Tarik Akter Khan, two daughters, a son and number of well wishers to mourn.
