DNCC fines Gabtoli cattle market Tk 1 million

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam said that a fine of Tk 10 lakh has been imposed on the Gabtoli cattle market for violating hygiene rules and lease conditions.

He said this while inspecting the overall condition of Gabt0li cattle market on Monday. 

During the DNCC mayor's visit to Gabtoli cattle market, several images of violation of hygiene were observed and a fine of Tk 10 lakh was collected through the mobile court under his direction. At the same time, Md. Atiqul Islam said, “On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, a total of 1 permanent and 8 temporary cattle markets are being established in the DNCC area.”

He said that in every animal market, the hygiene rules along with the government instructions have to be followed properly, otherwise legal action has to be taken.

The DNCC mayor said that a sufficient number of masks and hand sanitizers and other essential items for health protection have been provided at each market.

Md. Atiqul Islam said that social distance should be maintained by both buyers and sellers and they should use masks and hand sanitizers properly.

He said, considering the existing Covid-19 situation, for the first time, rapid antigen test has been arranged in the cattle huts under Dhaka North City Corporation.

The DNCC mayor further said that in order to protect the city and the country, including our families, to prevent the spread of Covid-19, we all have to abide by the government guidelines and health regulations.
