DNCC collects around Tk 1,40,000 in fines

In Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, the mobile court collected an accumulated fine of over taka 140,000 in more than 230 cases for violating lockdown protocols since July 1. The lockdown was announced by the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The information was provided through press releases by the DNCC Public Relation Officer. 

During the first patrol last Thursday, the total amount of fines collected in 52 cases was Tk. 21,200. Total amount of fines collected in 61 cases during the second patrol on Saturday was Tk 21,000. On the third patrol on Monday, the total amount of fines collected in 35 cases was 20,600 taka. 

A total of Tk 12,450 was collected in 29 cases during the fourth day patrol on Tuesady. On Wednesday, total fine of Tk 10,200 was levied in 3 cases. Tk 54,000 collected in 39 cases on Thursday. The mobile courts were headed by Executive Magistrates Md. Zulkar Nayan, M Safiul Azam, Md. Mizanur Rahman, Mokabbir Ahmed, Md Abed Ali, Mohammad Abdul Hamid Mia, Sajia Afrin, Mohammad Ashraful Alam and Masud Hossain in various areas and zones of the DNCC. During this time, public awareness messages were announced by miking. Hand sanitizers and masks were distributed to the public and the city-dwellers were advised to abide by the health rules and regulations as directed by the government in order to bring the Covid-19 situation under control.
