To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), both Manchester City and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will work jointly. Both cities will formulate plans their respective plans by September 2020. Manchester City and Brac University will gradually formulate the plan.
This information reveled at a seminar titled ‘Global North- Global South City Dialogue on Sustainable Development Goal: Dhaka and Manchester’ held at Brac Centre in the capital on Saturday. Greater Manchester City Mayor Andy Burnham and DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam was present at the seminar as guest of honor.
Mayor Atiqul said, Dhaka and Manchester has lots of similarities. Once Manchester was familiar for its textile industries and now Dhaka is familiar for Ready Made Garments industry.
