Bangladesh national football team returned home Tuesday at midnight after completing their mission in the Asian Cup qualifying round with a disappointing manner in Malaysia.

The players, right after their arrival from Kuala Lumpur have already joined in their respective clubs, as the matches of rest of the rounds of the TVS Bangladesh Premier League football to resume from June 20.

Meanwhile, Malaysia bound Bangladesh team, who left Dhaka last week of May, had almost a one weak transit in Jakarta, Indonesia where they played a FIFA international friendly match against the hosts (Indonesia).

Bangladesh in their tour of Indonesia and Malaysia played total four matches, three matches in Malaysia and one in Indonesia but could not celebrate any win but suffered three defeats and had a draw.

In fact Bangladesh left Dhaka with their main objective to play the Asian Cup Qualifying round matches in Kuala Lumpur when the FIFA match in Indonesia was a part of their preparation match.

Bangladesh team left Jakarta for Kuala Lumpur with a sound mind, as they had a creditable draw against the hosts Indonesia in FIFA friendly but could not enjoy the Asian Cup qualifying mission when suffered defeat in their all three encounters.

Bangladesh team despite began the campaign with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Bahrain, who are 100 times better in FIFA rank but they (Bangladesh team) went down fighting against the stronger sides, as their approach and performances were so far impressive.

In the second match they demonstrated a tremendous performances, played with full domination against Turkmenistan conceded defeat, who are also 54 times higher in FIFA ranking than Bangladesh.

Conceding the defeat was more disgusting, as it looked that the day was for the boys of Red and Green when almost right from first whistle they had every control on the match and also created better scoring chances than Turkmenistan but finally they left the ground with huge distress after suffering a 2-1 defeat.

It was highly expected that the boys would go up in flames against the hosts Malaysia in the last match and will fight with do or die attitude at least to make a draw, which would be a prestigious. But the booters fully disappointed with their dismal performances when they looked exhausted and conceded four goals and managed to reduce one.

Former national star Saiful Bari Titu, who turned into a coach, experienced as the national team’s coach shared some of his observation with the Bangladesh Post on Wednesday of the players’ performances in the Asian Cup and FIFA friendly matches.

Titu said, “It was a mixed experiences of the team, as they were not steady with their performances, you may watch the matches, there were huge distinctions in their approaches in different matches.”

“I mean, they could not executed the coach’s plans perfectly in every match. In some of the matches they looked very organized and playing beautiful game but failed to keep up the momentum and lost concentration in the next match.”

“Players should have the ability to follow and make full execution of coaches’ plans, technique and tactics, match by match coach can change his game plans and show the way of taking the opponents. It is a big lacking of our boys that they just forget the directions how to focus on the day’s match,” explain Titu, one of the experienced and qualified coaches of Bangladesh.

“Actually, now we should have train up a team from a certain age group and there are so many issues you have to follow to have an expected football generations,” Titu said.
