Bangladesh Diabetic Association began its journey at Shailkupa in Jhenidah. The activities were started at the old office building of the chairman of upazila parishad on Saturday. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Usman Gani inaugurated the activities.
Jhenidah unit president of Bangladesh Diabetic Association Mir Nasir Uddin, chief medical officer of Jhenidah Diabetic Hospital Dr. Baharul Islam, assistant professor of Islamic University Dr. Rehana Parvin, donour of the land for the hospital Golam Sarwar among others were present.
Hundreds of people including the patients with diabetic and some other complicated diseases were present to check their health at the centre. Of them 113 patients were examined and given treatment.
The organizers said the hospital remain open for six days a week including government holidays. Earlier UNO Usman Gani inaugurated the construction work of 10-storied building of the association last week at Hazampara area of Shailkupa municipality.
