Departmental case filed against a corrupted IF officer

Wide allegation of corruption was brought against a field officer of Islamic Foundation (IF), serving at Shailkupa in Jhenidah. Allegation of fund mismanagement, cheating, nepotism and negligence in duty was proved against the officer in a primary investigation. Ayub Hossain, ex assistant director of public administration section-1, investigated the allegation on mosque-based children and mass education activities at Shailkupa in Jhenidah. A departmental case was filed against the field officer (FO) Tohidur Rahman.

Mohammad Habibur Rahman Project director (PD) and joint secretary of mosque-based children education activities of the Islamic Foundation, said in a letter that Field Officer Touhidur Rahman appointed 13 teachers in the education centres including his brother, cousin preparing fake HSC certificate at Shailkupa upazila in 2016.

Besides, the accused was used to withdrawing fake travelling allowances for 12 days at every month without serving in the fields. He had withdrawn several lakhs of Taka in last five and a half years. The show cause letter also stated that FO Touhidul Rahiman had confessed his misdeeds during the investigation. A case was filed with Shailkupa Police station in this regard.
