Dengue patients decrease in Khulna

Dengue patients are gradually decreasing in Khulna division. At least 5,142 patients have returned home after recovery from different hospitals and clinics in Khulna division, reports BSS.

Around 571 dengue patients are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals and clinics of the division.

“A total of 6,021 patients were admitted to the different hospitals in Khulna division since January this year. Of them, 5,142 patients have returned home after recovery,” said an official release of Directorate

General of Health Services (DGHS) in Khulna. According to DGHS, A total of 13,435 dengue test kits have reserved in the division. A total of 19 people have died of dengue so far, it added. Around 134 new dengue patients got admitted to different hospitals in the last 24 hours across the division while 308 dengue patients have been referred to hospitals in Dhaka city. Meanwhile, a dengue patient died yesterday night at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).

The deceased was identified as Rahima Begum, 50, wife of Rafiqul Morol, residence of Tala upazila in Satkhira. Rahima was admitted to the hospital with dengue fever on Monday afternoon. She died yesterday during treatment at KMCH, Dr Shailendranath Mistry of KMCH confirmed.
