Dengue patients decrease by 2pc in Dhaka

The number of dengue patients at different hospitals in the capital decreased by 2pc during the last 24 hours, says a press release. According to the release sent to media on Wednesday noon by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 1,626 dengue patients were admitted while 1,818 were released from different hospitals throughout the country in last 24 hours from August 20 to August 21.

In Dhaka, the number of dengue patients admitted to different hospitals during the time was 711, and number of released patients were 764. Outside the capital, 915 patients got admitted to different hospitals while 1,054 were released. At present, 6,278 patients suffering from dengue are undergoing treatment at different hospitals of the country which is 3pc less than before.

In Dhaka City Corporation, there are 3,360 dengue patients undergoing treatment at hospitals while there are 2,918 patients outside the capital all across the country.Mentionable, the dengue patient admission rate in Dhaka decreased by two percent comparing to the past while outside Dhaka, the decreasing rate is three percent, the release added.
