Police rescued a deer from the Meghna river in Alexander area under Ramgati Upazila in Laxmipur on Saturday, reports BSS.
Police said local people found the deer floating in river water. On information, they rescued the sick deer from the river this noon and sent it to Upazila Livestock Office for treatment. Police sources said the river stream might have brought the deer to Alexander from Nijhum Dwip. Many deer came out from the island during cyclone Fani as it was inundated by flood water.
